What is this event?
This is a free Learn to Ski event hosted by the New England Water Ski Collective to kick off the 2026 season.
When is the event?
The event takes place on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Memorial Beach in Webster
Where is the event being held?
The event will be held at Memorial Beach in Webster - 10 Memorial Beach Drive, Webster MA 01570
Who can participate?
This event is for able-bodied participants only. If you are looking for adaptive skiing opportunities, please check our other events.
Do I need any experience to join?
No experience is necessary. This event is designed for people who want to learn to ski.
Will instructors be available?
Yes. Participants will learn from USA Water Ski licensed instructors and certified drivers.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring a bathing suit, a towel, and a willingness to learn, a snack and water is also reccomended.
What equipment is provided?
The New England Water Ski Collective will provide the boats, gas, ropes, and skis.
Do I need to register in advance?
Yes. All participants must complete the registration and insurance waiver before attending.

What is the cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel, please provide at least 72 hours’ notice. This gives us time to contact someone on the waitlist or fill the open spot.
Do I need to wear a life jacket?
Yes. Life jackets are required for all participants while in the water and on the docks.
Will life jackets be available?
Yes. We have life jackets in a variety of sizes available for participants.
Can I bring my own life jacket?
Absolutely. We encourage participants to bring their own life jacket if they have one.
Will my life jacket be checked?
Yes. We will conduct a safety evaluation before each ski run to make sure the life jacket fits properly and is secure.
Can a parent or guardian ride in the boat while their child is skiing?
No. Due to insurance regulations, only insured individuals are allowed on the boats. Allowing additional passengers on and off the boats would also significantly slow down the event.
Can someone be on the docks without a life jacket?
No. Everyone on the docks must wear a personal flotation device, with the exception of boat drivers.
