Webster, MA — October 18, 2024 — The Webster Water Ski Collective celebrated a year of accomplishments and community contributions at its annual end-of-year banquet, held on October 18 at the beautiful Point Breeze Restaurant on Webster Lake. The evening’s highlight was the presentation of the Collective’s prestigious 2024 Legacy Award to Lenny Tremblay, a multi-time National Water Ski Champion, in recognition of his lifelong commitment to excellence in the sport and his inspiring legacy in competitive waterskiing.

Lenny Tremblay - 2024 Legacy AwardLenny Tremblay is a true icon in Webster. If you’re up early, you’ve likely caught him barefoot skiing at sunrise on Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg (Webster Lake). His influence reaches far beyond Webster, as he is known across Florida, where he skis during the winter, and throughout the nation.

In 2015, at age 76, Lenny made history by setting a National Barefoot Water Ski Slalom record with an impressive 7.2 points—a record that still holds today. Over the years, he has earned multiple national championships, securing titles in 1995, 1999, 2002, 2003, 2014, and 2015. “Lenny has set an incredible example for skiers of all levels, embodying skill, dedication, and the spirit of our waterskiing community,” said Collective President Reanna Kuzdzal. “His contributions to the sport continue to inspire the next generation of skiers, and we are honored to recognize his achievements.”

In addition to the Legacy Award, the Webster Water Ski Collective presented several other awards to members and contributors who have demonstrated extraordinary resilience, commitment, and volunteerism:

  • Comeback Skier of the Year: Gloria Ricker, recognized for her remarkable return to the water after two knee surgeries, showing not only improvement in her skiing but also her resilience and passion for the sport. This award was presented by Collective Secretary Linda Candela, who shared admiration for Gloria’s journey and dedication.
  • President’s Award: Nick Cioffi was honored for his tireless efforts behind the scenes, from driving at events and practices to managing boat maintenance and organizing club activities. President Reanna Kuzdzal expressed her deep appreciation for Nick’s indispensable role in the club’s success.
  • Volunteer of the Year: Lilliana Perreault of the Aqua Riders of Holland Show Ski Team received this award for her invaluable support of the Collective’s Adaptive Water Ski Program. Her dedication, passion, and countless hours of service have greatly contributed to the program’s success. Ryan DesRoches, Director of Adaptive Skiing, presented this award, praising Lilliana’s commitment to making waterskiing accessible to all.
