Event Description
We are VERY Excited to partner once again with our friends from the Aqua Riders of Holland Show Ski Team as well as Team Hoyt New England for our first Adaptive Ski Event of 2024 which will take place at the Aqua Riders home ski site at 163 Mashapaug Rd, Holland, MA. The event will run from 8:30am-4pm, with two different sessions of about 13 skiers each (26 total) and will include a lunch for all participants and volunteers.
This event will be dedicated in the memory of Lisa Fracalosi, who was a member of Team Hoyt New England and who skied with us last season and became instantly hooked on waterskiing, joining us for multiple events and always having a huge smile on her face. She will be skiing with us in spirit this year, and I am sure will continue to provide us all with a loving smile from above.
Registrations ARE NOW OPEN!
TEAM HOYT MEMBERS – Select “Check payment” when checking out – Team Hoyt New England is covering your deposit! (You MUST be a member of THNE!)
A $40 refundable deposit will be required to hold your spot (the event itself is FREE, Team Hoyt Members – see above). Deposits will be returned (upon request) on the day of the event, if the participant does not request their deposit back the funds go into our Adaptive Ski Budget to offset the cost for lunch and help us bring more events like this to Central Massachusetts.
Lunch will be provided: As part of the event, we will be catering a box lunch or pizza for both the morning and afternoon sessions. We will also have an Ice Cream truck on site for the kids which we will give each participant a voucher for one free ice-cream treat. Doughnuts and coffee will be available for the morning session as well. All of this is FREE for the participants via donations from our sponsors and donors!
Survey: As part of the grants that help us put on these events, we are asking each participant (especially ones with spinal cord injuries) to PLEASE take the following survey through Move United Sports – https://moveunitedsport.org/education/physical-activity-survey/
T-Shirts: All participants will receive a free t-shirt commemorating our 2024 Adaptive ski season and showing off their status as a full fledged water skier! Please pick your size in the registration form!
Cancellation Policy: We strive to fill all of our events, and will request a 72 hour notice prior to the event of a cancellation in order to receive your deposit back. The 72 hour window will allow us to contact someone on the waitlist or try to fulfill the spot that is being vacated.
SKIERS: All skiers MUST fill out the questionnaire attached to this registration form – failure to do so will result in your registration being canceled, as the information is essential for our planning and records to satisfy some of our grants that make events like these possible.
Life Jackets: Life jackets MUST be worn by all participants while they are in the water. We do have many different sizes of life jackets available for participants, but highly encourage people to bring their own if they have them. We will conduct a safety evaluation of all skiers prior to their ski run to make sure the jacket properly fits and is secure.
Questions?: Any further questions may be directed toward our Director of Adaptive Skiing at Adaptive@WebsterWaterSki.org
