WEBSTER, Mass., August 6, 2026 — The New England Water Ski Collective will host its rescheduled 3rd Annual Veterans Water Ski Event on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Memorial Beach in Webster.

Originally scheduled for July 7 and postponed due to rain, the event will now take place on Webster Lake and will once again offer veterans and their families a free day of water skiing, adaptive skiing, community, and celebration on the water.

The event is open to both able-bodied and disabled veterans, as well as active military members and their families. Organizers say the goal is to create a welcoming and memorable day for participants of all experience levels, including those who may be trying water skiing for the very first time.

The upcoming event builds on momentum from the Collective’s adaptive ski day this past Tuesday, August 4, when six veterans from Weekend Warriors of New England joined the program in Webster for a day on the water.

“What a beautiful day for adaptive water skiing,” Weekend Warriors of New England shared after the event. “I’m so glad I connected with Ryan and his team at the New England Water Ski Collective. Today, we were able to get five of our Veterans with different disabilities out on the water to try adaptive water skiing and they loved it. Some have never done it before and thought they couldn’t do it because of their disabilities. I even was able to get my Marine uncle out there. We’re looking forward to working together and making more plans for the future.”

“Veterans Ski Day is one of the most meaningful events we host all year,” said Ryan DesRoches, Director of Adaptive Skiing at the New England Water Ski Collective. “It gives us the chance to welcome veterans and their families out for a fun day on the water, introduce many of them to adaptive skiing, and remind people that this sport can be accessible, empowering, and community-driven for everyone.”

The New England Water Ski Collective is a Central Massachusetts-based nonprofit dedicated to making water skiing more accessible, inclusive, and inspiring for people of all ages and abilities. Through its adaptive, recreational, and competitive programs, the organization creates opportunities for confidence, connection, and growth on the water.

This year’s Veterans Ski Day will also feature a catered BBQ lunch courtesy of Bistro Eighty Ates in Webster, helping make the event a full day of hospitality and appreciation for those who have served.

The public and members of the media are also welcome to attend and cheer on the veterans throughout what promises to be a fun, inspiring, and rewarding day on the water. Organizers hope the community will come out to show its support for the men and women who have served while helping celebrate the inclusive spirit of the event.
