Event celebrates inclusion, accessibility, and the legacy of the Hoyt family

HOLLAND, MA — April 16, 2024 — The Webster Water Ski Collective, in partnership with Team Hoyt New England and the Aqua Riders of Holland Show Ski Team, is proud to host the 3rd Annual Team Hoyt New England Adaptive Ski Day on June 19, 2025, at the Aqua Riders’ home site on Hamilton Reservoir in Holland, Massachusetts.

This free, full-day event brings the joy of adaptive water skiing to individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities, supported by certified instructors, trained volunteers, and specialized equipment. Over two sessions, more than 25 adaptive athletes will hit the water and experience the thrill of skiing—many for the very first time.

“This event is about more than skiing. It’s about community, inclusion, and giving people of all abilities a chance to feel empowered on the water,” said Ryan DesRoches, Director of Adaptive Skiing for the Webster Water Ski Collective. “We’re honored to work with Team Hoyt New England and the Aqua Riders to continue this inspiring tradition.”

The event is part of the Collective’s broader mission to make water sports accessible for all. That mission is supported in part by a MOOR Grant from the Massachusetts Office of Outdoor Recreation (MOOR), which helps fund inclusive outdoor programming across the Commonwealth.

As a tribute to the enduring legacy of Dick and Rick Hoyt, Team Hoyt New England helps pair rider-athletes with teammates across the region, ensuring no one is left on the sidelines—a mission perfectly aligned with the spirit of this adaptive ski day.

The event will run from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM and include:

  • Two adaptive ski sessions (morning and afternoon)

  • A catered lunch for all participants and volunteers

  • Free event t-shirts for all athletes

  • Coffee and doughnuts for the morning group

  • An ice cream truck for participants, with vouchers for a free treat

All skiers must register in advance. A $40 refundable deposit is required to reserve a spot, which can be refunded the day of the event or donated to support future adaptive programs. Team Hoyt New England members will have their deposits waived courtesy of the organization.
